is it possible to make your own hard guitar case? if so, how would you make it what materials etc?

It could definitely be done, but it would take some woodworking and upholstry skills. There are a lot of way's you could go about it, but they would all take some crafting skills. I don't know of any specific plans or instructions, but I'm sure if you searched hard enough, you could find something on the internet about building a guitar case.

how much do you love your guitar? a hard case is pretty important, and the hard cases out there right now are pretty awesome as far as strength go.

I'm sure it is possible...but I'm not sure why you would want to do it?I'm not sure how much it would cost you to make one, but I'm sure that if you added the cost, and time of building it, you'd find a really nice case in a store for a comparable amount...seems like a bit of a waste of time to me.

i dunno, iwas just interested, i have a performing job now(part time) so there is money coming in, i have built loadsa things for my guitar, i was just interseted you know i did not want to build one now, i duno really

im all into building and modding guitar equipment and stuff, i mean its fun to have your own individual equipment rather then just have it look like it just came out of its box, however somn that protects my equipment and is as vital as a case, i dunno if i'd dare unless i was really really good. and even then. wat i said b4 - tonnes of good ones out there (sure they are expensive but they last AGES!).

shouldn't be too hard to build a rectangular one. here's some links to parts you might want for it:
vinyl for outside of case
hinges
latches
handle
then you should be able to build the rest out of plywood with a 2x4 or something for the neck supports. then go to a fabric shop and buy something soft, protetctive but not damaging to your finish, for the interior of the case. and you should be good to go. I don't know how you'd make an accessory compartment, so you'll have to get creative.
