Right i'm gonna go out on a limb here! i know i'm music theory challenged, and, i can see where the mathamatical code thing is comin from in terms of the pattern it forms, and, i've seen the same pattern in terms of the actual notes rather than maths (posted somewhere on this site) what i don't get is... what the ****does it all mean???? there are 7 musical notes right? 5 of which have a sharp variant (half step/half tone?) so whats with all these *****scales and modes we have to learn???? surely a solo is just about playin said notes or, some of, in a order/sequence that sounds good??!! :confused: :confused: like i said at the start i am music theory challenged but if any of you knowledgeable dudes can explain it in laymans terms i will be eternally gratefull :)
