Yeah, I picked up a DVD called "Classic Albums: The Black Album". They interview the band and talk about how they wrote all the songs and how they recorded them... it's really interesting. Hettfield wrote the song for himself and never intended for it to be a Metallica song... Then he ended up writing all the guitar parts including a strings part with an Ebow. The DVD is pretty interesting and they show you a lot of the original demos for the songs from the Black album. Cool stuff. I recommend it to any Metallica fan.
