I guess he's right; it's a young person's thing. Granted, I'm a young person and I vastly prefer singing, but I'll certainly admit that listening to Lamb of God or Trivium can get my blood up. It's harder for older people (but not impossible - my guitar teacher still likes Soulfly and Fear Factory!) because, in general, I suppose their attitude towards art is more contemplative, less self-centred. I don't think there's a great deal of talent involved in screaming (though there is some), but it certainly has its artistic value!
