I'm new to these boards and wanted to introduce myself. I've been playing since I was about 16, and i'm turning 22 shortly. I'm a fairly solid player, though I have trouble with speed and cleanliness. If you guys think there are good posts to start with, please post them in replys! Glad to meet you all!

Some of my influences would be John Petrucci, Steve Vai, and David Gilmour. My style would be closest to Petrucci, but I tend to play less complex stuff (obviously :D ).

Gear: OLP Petrucci MM, Squier strat w/dimarzzio's neck and bridge, Yamaha acoustic

Hey man, welcome to the boards. I'm going to rep you now, because I have to spread it around. Enjoy!
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

Do you have any idea what that probably sounds like to someone who doesn't know what you're talking about? :D

Welcome. Your influences are shared by nearly every on this board.

Hows the JP guitar? I'm seriously considering getting one. What pickups exactly have you put in it?

I havn't put any pickups in the OLP JP axe, but it sounds great. Doesn't get as much crunch as I like, but I use my squire strat with super distortion and a steve vai (i think, its been a few years since i dropped them in) for that type of music. It has a great feel to the fretboard and neck, and has great playability with low string action. I get a bit of fret buzz around the middle frets, but the inntonation is also pretty good (not perfect though). It can really sing, but I want a Low B on there! For the price, I don't think you can beat this guitar.

I used to have a Jackson DR7-t, absolutly loved that thing, but was time to move on to something new.
