Honestly a three man. I don't want to be mean but none of that is very hard even for someone only playing for four months. Learn the rest of Crazy train that's a good one to get to intermediate status. I've been playing for a decade and I'd only give myself a 5-6 maybe. I hope you don't take it the wrong way becuase there was a time when all I could play was easier songs too. All of us started at the bottom. Keep it going it looks like you like to play.

Well.. sounds good to me, but I just started heh. I know how hard it is to start out, keep going, it'll be worth it!

*EDIT: Hey, where'd you get the tabs for those Greenday songs and Ironman BTW?

Thanks :)

Am I the other dude? Wait until you move past this stuff if you think all that is tough on your fingers. I used to be just like you in terms of being proud of what I could play until I really started learning stuff. Some of my current projects are Speed Metal Symphony by Cacophony which should take me at lest a year or two to get all down. Also, I thought Johnny B. Good by Chuck Berry would be simple and mostly it is but you gotta be quick. Pull Me Under by Dream Theater is also giving me some trouble. Take a look at some of these songs mate and you will understand what I mean. You are definatly learning quick for a beginner but this stuff isn't that hard compared to other stuff out there. Once you've been playing a few years and get into the tough stuff you'll look back and realize how easy all this stuff is.

Exactly Akira thank you! What I mean is that if you are conent at how you are playing those songs step it up a notch and try learning the rest of Crazy Train and maybe Mr. Crowley if you like Ozzy that much I know I do. :D Sweet Child of Mine will introduce you to string skipping. There are some pretty tough songs out there that you should challange yourself with.

yep...almost all heavry rock stuff like greenday or slipknot utilizes power chords... just a few different positions..so they are really easyits the more technical stuff that u shud aim for...maybe jack johnson could be a great starting point.. jazz, blues are kinda technical imo...but dun give up alright dont get discouraged as ninja and akira said...we're not trying to put u down...

gluck!

I gotta go with ninja on this one... For a beginner though, and comparing you to where I was probably at I would say you're up in the 8's. I didn't really try to learn a lot of stuff when I started. I wasn't that serious with it. But I've been playing for 5 years now and I've finally gotten to where I can play by ear... and learn whole songs in 5 minutes or less somtimes. Those Green Day songs are an example of songs I can learn in less than 5 minutes... Basically as long as it takes for me to listen to the song.

You're moving along a great clip though. I will commend you on that! But keep challenging yourself. If you find those songs easier to learn try challenging yourself with something that might not be so easy for you. That's when IMO you learn the most as a guitarist. When you get yourself out of your comfort zone. Try tackling something like Seek and Destroy... or if you're feeling really ambitious... try starting to learn Master of Puppets. It's a great song to practice on and also grow as a guitar player.
