Everyones probably going to get mad at me...as usual, for starting these oppinion threads, but here goes...*deep breathe*

Everyone knows and loves John Lennon as a Beatle, songwriter, and whatever else you want to call him.

People know George Harrison as a Beatle, and maybe a songwriter.

Which one was better at guitar? I think it was obviously Harrison, my favorite. But who do you like more, Lennon, or Harrison?

By the way, I think Harrison was way underrated as a song writer, and guitarist.

Harrison was obviouly better at guitar but Lennon was a wonderful song writer.
I dont know much about the Bettles but werent John and Paul the main writters of the band. The ones that made those classic tunes.

john lennon-better at rhythm- george better at lead-----john really knew how to strum and pick a rhythm out on an accoustic. "hide your love away" --"i'll be back"----"norwegian wood" and many others where john played nice accoustic rhythm

John Lennon is a much better songwriter, even though George Harrison is underrated. Just because someone is underrated doesn't mean that person is better than, you know, one of the greatest songwriters ever.

John was a more consistent songwriter than George, but George's best works are amongst my favourite Beatles songs, so I'll vote for George. Also, George was a more versatile musician, with a wider range of influences.

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

i always thought it was ironic that john and paul both wanted to write a song for frank sinatra and frank said his favorite beatles song was "something" by harrison(he said it was was one of his most favorite songs period)

The odd part about that was that Sinatra actually thought Something was Lennon-Maccartney...but, of course Lennon was that classic song-writer, but I think Harrison is totally under-rated. Have you listened to the solo in Let it Be?
