How do you like the MXR Dyna-Comp? I've been thinking about adding a compressor to my live rig for a while now, since I normally use some compression on my guitars when I record. Also, what all is the MXR Micro Amp good for? How does it effect the tone of your guitar and amp, and what kind of boost does it give?

Dyna Comp - good on batteries should be the first thing I say. Lasts forever. Gives a darker style of compression/sustain than say a BOSS CS-3. The DC takes a while to get use to. Needs a lot of fiddling around with to find a good setting. Often I find the output setting needs to be changed whenever your volume knob on your amp gets changed. I give it a 7/8 out of 10.

Micro Amp - I used this thing once until I got my Tube Adapters. I just happened to be playing around with it when I had it almost fully cranked and my amp was soaring. This turned my overdriven "clean" channel into a lead monster. It was amazing. Gives a really nice boost to give a nice lead sound in the clean channel. I find it doesn't do much unless it is almost or fully turned all the way to the right. A decent pedal, but really depends on what your looking for. Definetly try one out before you buy it. And more importantly try it out on your rig at a volume/setting that you would be using the amp in.

A shredder with a green seven-string? Hmmm... this is just a stab in the dark, but you aren't by any chance the guy who posted this, are you?
