Hey everyone,

I have just finished my latest premeditated Improv in E minor that I call "Opportunity." It is instrumental, however most of the music I compose is not. Any comments or criticisms would be appreciated. Thanks!

Excellent improv. Good timing too.
For life is quite absurd and death's the final word, You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

O.K. first of all I think it sounded great. But if you want my opinoin (remember you asked for constructive critisism)
I think you sound like a product of scales. I think you could get a better felling from your blues if you cocentrated more on a single note than a bunch of cotinious notes it starts to sound very repaticious. Dont get me wrong it does sound good. I think people just always seem to over play.

I really didn't like the first half of the song. I couldn't really hear the lead very well. It got better in the middle, I don't know if you were tremolo picking or sweeping there but it was pretty good not as sloppy as I sweep anyway :D . The tapping sounded off to me but the melody was ok. Keep it up not bad overall.

WE are our own hardest critic > If we like what we are playing then it's good, because we can also be our best critic. :)

Thanks for all the replies guys/gals. I am taking the constructive criticisms into mind and I will see where I can improve my flaws. Thanks again.

Peace.

I'm always interested to see how shred-blues combos turn out, and I'm pleased to say that this one turned out really well! . Your choice of rhythm track was interesting and challenging; your technical abilities are extremely impressive. My only issue was with the timing - well, not so much the timing, as the overall interplay between the lead and the rhythm. I thought that you got a little bit carried away with scalar runs at times; the parts of the song I enjoyed most were the sections where you used the lead to complement the rhythm, around the one-minute mark for example (um... I think it was the one-minute mark, anyway.... :o )
Overall, that was very good. Keep up the good work!
