Total Guitar dude, top mag for people you wanna play guitar and have fun doin it regardless of whether your a pro or just startin out, not like all the snotty mags i looked at "if you dont hold your pick like this and you dont strike the string at this angle you'll never be a proper guitarist!"

I subscribe to National Geographic. When I buy guitar magazines, I don't buy any particular one - just whichever has the articles that look the most interesting.

I subscribe to Guitar World, I think its pretty good, most of the issues are good with some exceptions

I subscribe to guitar one, and can't recommend it enough.
IMHO, it's far better than guitar world, which is full of pop, power pop, etc...

Yeah, Guitar World seems a li'l dodgy to me. They had Steve Stevens in there once, and when he mentioned Wes Montgomery, the editor felt obliged to inform his readership exactly who Wes was:

"Whether you're playing [jazz legend] Wes Montgomery grooves..."

Jazz Legend?! I thought he was the guitarist from Cannibal Corpse!

after getting subscriptions to Gutiar one, guitar world, guitar player ... i would have to go with guitar one for those who wish to be well rounded players or open their eyes to interesting ideas...however the issues are getting progressivly less content... Guitar world sucks, its geared towards shreders and metal, with the occasional rock cover here and there, and since they have droped down to only 5 tabs per magizine im definitly not renewing. guitar player is for the older crowd, looks nice, has a few albeit poorly organized lessons...other then that, im not gonna resubscribe although they do have alot of blue chip guitarist they interivew.
WWSD? What would stevie do?

I've never subscribed to Guitar One or Guitar World but I have picked up an occasional issue of 'em at the newstand a couple of times. An impulse buy after seeing what tabs they had or what stories were in 'em.

Any magazine with Paul Gilbert every month is probably worth getting. Not only is he a phenomenal guitarist, he's hilarious.

Total Guitar and Guitar Techniques both excellent IMO

I got guitar techniques once. After having Total Guitar which is a 'laid back' magazine I didn't really take to it. It's to 'strict' for my liking.
