Well I'm pretty sure it isn't the amp, since I've tried it out on both tube amps and solid state amps. It doesn't matter what the tone settings and volume settings on the amp are, it always sounds distorted.

I opened the guitar up, and it doesn't look like anything is out of place. I know almost nothing about electronics, but nothing looked like it was fried and there were no loose wires. So I'm thinking maybe the pickups are just shot.

I want to sell this guitar but it would be nice to fix this problem first. I just don't want to fork out a bunch of money before I sell it.
