Just got an old Jackson Kelly and am trying to get it set up to how I like it. I use 10-52 strings and it's very difficult to get the bridge to sit flush with the heavier bottom strings, too much tension on the springs in the back.
Is it possible to even set up a floyd rose bridge with heavier strings without having a ridiculously high action? Will the tremelo still perform properly?
I'm going to just take it to a tech because i'm sick of playing around with it and just want it done, but I want to know for sure before I take it so i'm not wasting his time and my money kind of thing. If anyone could help me out here that'd be great. thanks!
