I think my dad has one of their records. Don't they have two drummers or something?
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

Too right!
Rainbow were pretty impressive but i think ritchie did a bit more technical stuff in deep purple, but now they have steve morse and blackmore's doing some random mandolin stuff, i guess if that's what tickles his pickle.....

but then vivian campbell was pretty damn impressive, i reckon he'd beat ritchie in a duel, even with his new found love for blues, id love to see that, SOLO WARS!!!
# 8
;) either one could beat either one, they're two totally different players. kind of like a comparison of randy rhoads & tony iommi .

;) graham bonnet was the best vocalist ritchie blackmore ever hired. dio is undoubtably a great vocalist, but blackmore's rainbow was'nt a metal band. rainbow was a hard rock band, there is a notable difference between the two!

to be honest, to me rainbow and deep purple are the same bands. of course they are different. but they are richie blackmore so they the same. i ant gonna say cream is clapton but rainow and deep are pretty similar.

Listen to DIO, the band, holy diver, last in line, sacred heart, the more recent albums, that is unarguably and undoubtedly metal, like it or not.

The guitar pieces were the same, but listen to dio sing, he's a thousand times better than Gillian, or at least in my opinion, then there is the fact that john lord was on the hammond organ in purple, and in rainbow it was keyboard and synthesisers galore, but i see what you're getting to, when you get past that i guess some is a bit similar.

Sorry to quote the same thing twice but there is no way you can say graham bonnet is better than dio, you are having a laugh!!

went to see DIO in '85 and '86 (I think) on the "Holy Diver" and "Last in Line" tours.
They were great !!
I used to be a big fan of Elf, DP, Rainbow and then Sabbath !
Man that takes me back !

i seen em' both several times, and to me bonnet had way more depth than dio could ever have. and again blackmore was more of a hard rock band (guitar wise), than metal regardless of the vocalist. that was to be my whole point to begin with, if you'd of read ,instead of contradicting my quote !

i've listened to them all with each and every singer blackmore ever had, as i own all the blackmore recordings. and all i'm saying is blackmore's guitar work is of the hard rock genre, regardless of who was singing ! blackmore stated several times in interviews '' we are a hard rock band, not metal''. yes dio sounds metal but there has to be a valiant effort from everyone in the band as well for metal to exist. rock on, john
