if you dont need the effects, then why pay for an amp that has them, you could get a far nicer non-digital amp for that money.
Maybe a nice tube combo (peavey Vintage 30's are nice...they in that price range).

I would hunt around for that sort of thing and not waste time and money on feautures I wouldnt use
