A long time ago I bought a Gibson SG from a shop in Bristol UK, and quite honestly they saw me coming.
I struggled with it for years, it was way before computers and internet.
It was the invention of Electronic Tuners that enabled me to deduce that it was a Gibson neck on a dodgy body and the bridge had been drilled a 1/4 inch too far forward.
After much consideration I pulled out the bridge studs - filled in the holes and re-drilled it.
After re-assembling it, it sounded beautifull
It was a very frustrating time, but it taught me a lot about the physics of guitar strings. I have a lot of faith in Electronic tuners
