Hello everyone. First night on the forum. Bought my first guitar at age 55, just two days ago. She's a Gibson Les Paul Custom - and for sure - more guitar than I deserve. That's what the "War Dept" told me when i brought
her home. I've been around music all my life and have kicked myself over the years for never learning the guitar earlier. Especially seeing the prices today and recalling what I could have paid back in 64 when the likes of Orbison and the Beatles were top on my list. No questions tonight, but will be watching the forum with great interest. Much to learn, for sure. Meanwhile the fingers are screaming for mercy!

ha, yeah your fingers will definatly hate you at first. But a LP is a NICE guitar, good choice.

This site is a great recourse for anything guitar. I've learned alot of what i know today from just the site. The lessons are incredible, and any questions asked here in the forum will be eagerly answered by some of our very learned individuals here. (and we have quite a few.)

welcome aboard, sir! enjoy your stay. :D

Welcome to GT. If you're planning on frequenting the boards, I suggest you get used to random phrases and don't let anything surprise you. But don't worry, there are always people who are willing to help if you have a question about anything, no matter what the topic.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

Welcome aboard! It's never too late. I'm 53. :)

You can try the online lessons, starting >here< and the sky is the limit. Beginners usually want to upgrade their guitar after a few months, but I expect you'll want to keep yours for a while. :D
