Your missing the point about playing guitar by EAR!
Let me try to explain this alittle better to you!
I'm saying not Everyone can learn to play guitar by Ear!
Unless they have Ear training and sometimes its a gift.
Also if you know a little music theory you can build,
or make your own chords by just knowing a scale plus knowing
the notes on the guitar.
I'll be the first to admit i started out playing,
by ear but later on i got in to music theory .
But when i started out i could almost play any note i,
heard on a recording not everybody can do this.
Plus not everyone can sit down and listen to a recording,
or cd ect then play what they hear.
I do agree about all the help you can get on the web,
there is alot of input up here about guitar.
