New boy need help
Hi all, i have just started to learn to play guitar ( 3 days ) and as i dont know anyone who plays and cant afford lessons i am trying to teach myself. I have a cd-rom which is very helpful but does not tell you what you are doing wrong and how to correct it, so i hope one of you could help. The problem i have is fitting my fingers between the frets on certain cords they just dont fit. Before you get the wrong idea i am not some freakishly fat handed bloke i would say i am average. So is this a common thing for beginners and will it get better with practice or is it me. Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

it will get easier, dont expect to be able to do it all straight away it it will take time, just keep practicin and eventually it will become second nature
good luck

Thanks for the reply markc i know it takes time and practice but its so frustrating when you cant play a fairly simple cord because your fingers dont seem to fit or bend the right way. I am gonna take your advice and keep on trying, thanks. This may be a silly question but is there any exercice to help get your hands to move the right way.

erm not that i can think of, i think the best exercise is just whenever you have a few minutes free pick up your guitar and just take a bit of time to position your fingures strum a few times then change chord, it does start off quite difficult but it will get quicker and easier sorry to repeat myself.
Time and practice is what makes you feel so good when you can finally do it.
try some simple chord patterns like G D Em C, G C D.
