Schmange is right. Don't go trying any amateur surgery until you've checked with your GP, at the very least. I had two ingrowing toenails a couple of years ago (one on each of my big toes), and everybody I met just kept telling me to lance them myself. I decided to check with my doctor, just to be sure, and he told me that I definitely needed surgery!
