Can you run a wah pedal through such a unit?
A POD's main use is for different types of amp tones. The POD 2.0 has a few usefull effects, but I prefer using individual pedals. If you want a dedicated effects unit to use with your amp, the I would probably suggest something like the Boss ME-50.
I was thinking of doing that. Do I have to hook up both cables, or just from the left output to the return?

To do this, plug your guitar into the POD, then the POD's left out into your amps effects return jack. Don't plug anything into the effects send, or the main input of the amp. This will bypass your amps preamp, since the effects loop comes after the preamp in the signal path. This way, you don't have to worry about your amp coloring the tone of the POD. You'll probably want to turn the cabinet modeling off, and turn the A.I.R switch on the top of the POD to "amp".
