Tremelo problems!

Do I need a specific type of springs to replace the ones I currently have? My bridge lifts up too much when I tune my guitar! I think the springs have worn out?

It's not a bad idea to replace the springs every once in a while. They are pretty much standard springs, they'll have them at any reputable guitar shop.

But the fact that your bridge lifts up is probably to blame to a lack of tension by going down in string gauge. You can correct for this by adjusting the screws the springs are attached to.
