My mom just every so often said things like "I'd like you to do better," but she'd never say "Oh Goddamn, boy, these grades are ****ty. No more video games until you've got a 4.0." And I graduated just fine. Not straight A, but not barely passing either. Some classes I did good, others were a slump, just depended.
