yea it really sucks. And when you get used to it, playing every other guitar makes playing so uncomfortable.

I'm a Gibson man. I just like the sound better. No more than that.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

There are, but they've been voiced so many times:

I own a Gibson...but I think my vote lies with Fender (I own no Fenders...but dammit do I want a Tele).

My Gibson is amazing...I love it to bits...but I think nowadays, Fenders are probably more consistantly made...even tho both are definately not at the absolute top of the craftsmaship tree anymore.

awww. gibson and fender are drawed at 8 votes each. If only I could make another vote ;) anyway, i get the same problem with strats that I turn down the volume. Also, the tremelo is right above the volume knob so it cant be pushed right down unless you pull it really close. That is why im a gibson man.

Sorry, i might be missing something but as far as I'm concerened, playing pretty much any guitar is fun, and i personally own a les paul, which I feel is more fun to play than my friends strat (ok it is a mexican one, but I don't see what the deal is with mex-strats??) and if you own one or both, it is probably a case of which you are more used to, and what you use it for.

You know, that Strat volume knob getting in the way can actually be handy! Once, my pinky slipped on the volume knob while I was doing an upper-register hammer-on-bend, turning the volume down a fraction. I quickly turned it up again as I was bending the note upwards. I thought that it actually sounded pretty cool, so I tried it again, this time intentionally widdling the volume knob with my finger as I bent the note. It sounds awesome with a flanger!

I was raised in a Fender Strat household... around many other people that were Fender Strat people... So... I am a Fender Strat person and I wouldn't change it for the world. I like LPs, don't get me wrong. But I've always played Strats and I probably always will. If I ever buy a Les Paul it will always be the guitar I pull out on occasion and not frequently... I can get more sound out of a Strat than a Les Paul...

sorry but i dont like the strat tone. I like fat strats but nothing else unless its modded with humbuckers. Also, if i had one, i would have to get a new tremelo system because that strat type tremelo is horrible.
