Help

I've got an ESP w/floyd rose. I changed the strings, same guage, didn't adjust the bridge height.

Ive got the bridge set and locked in

the problem is now the action seems to be much higher as if the neck bowed out

i adjusted the truss rod a little and tried tightening it but the neck seems to be as flat as it will get

can anyone point me in the right direction

This is a common problem.

Un-lock the locking nut and tighten the springs in the trem cavity (on the back of the guitar) then retune.

If the bridge is not in the position you want, repeat either loosening or tightening these springs as necessary.

Can I get stiffer springs for my Floyd Rose?

I just put big fat SRV-sized 13-gauge strings on my Strat.

I maxed out the springs... if I tighten the screws any more they'll be stripped.

My bridge is still bowed/bucked... just a teensy bit. If the springs were a bit stiffer, problem solved!

you can get a variety of devices available from www.satewmac.com that may help.

Are you using 3 springs ? You should be able to use up to 5 if needs be. I have 9s on my jackson and with two regular springs it is fine.

Thanks for the tip! I'm guessing this is never a problem with a regular hard-tail bridge?
