I ordered the Green Day International Superhits songbook and it came a couple days ago. I already can play a few songs out of it. :D But I have one question...it says to tune down a half step. How do you do that? I've been playing without tuning down and it sounds fine though.

It Means to Tune Your Guitar to
Eb (Which is pronounced E flat). ;)

Eb
Ab
Db
Gb
Bb
Eb

Once you tune your top string to Eb you can tune the rest of your guitar to it :)

Just tune all of the strings a half step down (flat). All of the intervals will be the same as standard tuning, you play everything exactly the same, it'll all just be a half step down. Many guitar greats do this, but the most famous tht come to mind at the moment are Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and Van Halen on alot of songs.
I am Comfortably Numb... :D

Oh yeah...STICK IT TO THE MAN!

Yeah, Green Day write a lot of their songs in G sharp. Most of them can be played in standard tuning, but they sometimes throw in an E flat chord, which is why you need to tune down.

Sorry that I'm a beginner. I was just glad to be able to play songs I know and like. I know a lot of people hate Green Day, but I just happen to enjoy their old music. Is that a sin on here or something? Sorry if it is...

Touche, I don't know if its the same style, but I played Esteban's style of the malagenea (sp?) one time in school and they melted.
