I Heard and read that the pentatonics are the best to improvise with,
but i cant find any pentatonic scales that will go into a major key,
A-B-C#-D-E-F#-G#-A (Amajor)
A-C-D-E-G-A (Amajor pentatonic)
C-G from the pentatonic aren't in the Major Scale
(is That How You Find Out What Scale Will go into a Key?)
thats is How I Been Figuring what chord will go into a Major key.
A-B-C#-D-E-F#-G#-A
major:-A-C#-E
minor:-B-D-F#
minor:-C#-E-G#
major:-D-F#-A
major:-E-G#-B
minor:-F#-A-C#
diminished:-G#-B-D
all the chord's notes are in the A major scale. ....im i doing this right?
im Confused About the pentatonic scales... and other scales like
Whole Tone, Blues Pentatonic,Chromatic..and the Exotic Scales
and there are some chords that confuse me.. like Augmented
if some one can help me out,,or tell me im doing this all wrong.. let me know
thanks,
You're probably confused because that A major pentatonic is wrong wrong wrong. That's A minor pentatonic. A major is A-B-D-E-F#-A.
Blues pentatonic is kind of a misnomer, because there are six notes instead of five. In Aminor it's A-C-D-D#/Eb-E-G-A, and in A major it's A-B-B#/C-C#-E-F#-A. I'm not quite sure what's so confusing about whole tone scales, simply go up by whole steps, for example: A-B-C#-D#-E#-G-A. Same with chromatic scales, except instead, go up by half steps: A-A#/Bb-B-C-C#/Db etc etc.
What confuses you about these scales? Perhaps someone taught you them incorrectly, because they're fairly straightforward.
