dude.. I got a musician's friend catalog today.. GAS is workin overtime. I read a review on the BR-600, and all I can say is, I want one. The only thing that gets me is that there are no XLR inputs, but it comes with some cable that is XLR input on one end, and 1/4" output on the other, so you can plug a mic in still. What does everyone think, for a first recorder?

ouch, $850 is little much, but I suppose you get what you pay for. it does sound alot better, and having a 40Gig hardrive would be nice. I'll see if I can't find one used or something. thanks Doc

check out ebay and don't pay more than 600. Remember the difference between the mki and mkii is essentially snake oil.

good luck !
