Yeah, I'm thinking of picking up that one too. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Right now I'm listening to a horrible "punk/pop" band that is apparently from the next town over.

*shudder*

Joe Satriani's "Super Colossal." I'll tell you what I think when it's through.
I want the bomb
I want the P-funk!

My band is better than yours...

I just got my grubby little paws on "Operation:Mindcrime part II" by Queensryche. It's not as good as the original - I don't think they'll ever be able to top that - but it still rocks!

On the side, I'm also listening to Steely Dan, Charles Mingus, The Doors, Portishead, and Carcass, whom I was sure I would hate, but actually quite like.

Answering CW14's question about Opeth's influences reminded me that I haven't listened to Jethro Tull in ages, so right now I am rocking Aqualung. Beautiful music!

Anyone picking up Stadium Arcadium?

I've also been listening to tons of beck. He's a pimp. His music grooves deeper than the grand canyon.

I saw a cool documentary about Django Reinhardt once. It was about this guy who went on a trip to Romania (or wherever he was from) to find people who actually knew him.

Well half the time I listen to talk radio at work, but otherwise right now my playlist consists of: Eric Johnson, Leo Kottke, Los Lonely Boys, sprinkled with some Neil Young, Pink Floyd, ZZ Top, and myself.

Lately I've been listenin' to Audioslave's first CD non-stop. I've had it forever, but I'd never really listened to it until last week. Turns out it's pretty cool.

I do that all the time with old CD's. Just last week I got out my Sublime CD for the first time in about 4 years and it's been in my car CD player ever since then... It's always fun to rediscover bands that you forget about. Some other bands that I've been rediscovering are Rage Against the Machine, Blues Traveler, Alice in Chains, Pantera, Smashing Pumpkins, Incubus, Zakk Wyldes older stuff with Pride and Glory, and his Book of Shadows stuff. Some of the older Queens of the Stoneage stuff.... that's just some of the stuff I've been kicking old school with. haha.
