Hi there! I've looked for these chords, and can't find them anywhere, can someone explain them to me? A2, C2, G2, etc. etc.

Hey there. A '2' chord is actually a suspended chord. Whereas a regular chord is the 1st, 3rd, and 5th from the major scale, the suspended 2 chord replaces the 3rd with the 2nd, so now the chord is 1st, 2nd 5th, giving it an airy, positive quality.

Example:
The C major scale
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
C D E F G H I

The c chord is CEG.
Therefore, the C chord is CDG

So, back to your question, here are some of the open shapes I'll assume you can read tab.

A2
-0-----------------
-0------------------
-2------------------
-2------------------
-0------------------
--------------------
C2
-3-----------------
-3------------------
-0------------------
-0-----------------
-3------------------
--------------------
D2
-0-----------------
-2------------------
-3------------------
-0------------------
--------------------
--------------------
G2
-3-----------------
-3------------------
-2------------------
-0------------------
-0------------------
-3------------------

Here are a couple of suspended shapes you can move around the fretboard, they're bar chords.
-2---2--2---2----------------
-2---5--5---2-------
-4---4--4---4--6----
-4---2--4---4--4----
-2------2---4--2----
------------2-------

Alrighty then hope that helps. How's that for a 500th post?

That's not a Gsus2 chord. The root note you're playing is a C and Gsus2 consists of G, A, and E. That one is C, E, G, and D. That looks like it's some variation of a 9th chord that dropped the 7th.

I thought suspended chords were three note chords where the third was replaced with a second, rather than adding a second.

Using the forumula that Jolly just enlightened me with, you could apparantly get away with calling that Csus2.

Not a problem. I've learned something out of the deal, so I can't complain.

Jolly gave you the cadd2 or add9, instead of the actual suspended chord.
