Questions

Well i'm very new to the guitar, I have some basic questions.

1. I kinda of understand this but i'm still confused, When basically picking at notes and not strumming do you hold your hand on the fret board in a certain way to make accessing the notes faster or do you just move your hand for every note?

2. When using the sliding trick moving from note to note, how much press do you use because when i slide you can hear all the notes in between ring, so is that supposed to happen or am i only supposed to use a little bit of pressure and only hear the to notes i aiming for?

So if you could please help, I have looked up this but i'm having a hard time getting it.

All right. First of all, welcome to the boards.

For your first question, you will eventually figure out the smartest way to play the notes. Yes, you do have to move your hand around, but it helps to use all your left hand fingers so you don't have to move your hands so much.

When you slide, use a fair amount of pressure. Hearing the notes in between is the main point of sliding. You can slide slow or fast depending on the situation and your preferemces.

When I'm picking i usually put one or two fingers on the pick guard or somewhere close to there that way your dont have to move your whole hand and its way more accurate in my opinion.

When your sliding, use the same ammount of pressure as when your just playing normally. If you dont want to hear the notes in between, just slide faster
