look at korg, I have an ax10g, but apparently they now have like an ax1000g, and like an ax2500g or something like that.. really inexpensive. I'm assuming that the higher models would be alot better then mine, and mine wasn't all that bad.

if you want the best though, it's pretty much down to the GT-8 and the GNX4, but you'll pay a pretty penny for them

Ive got an RP100A. I like the tone, but Ive heard one guy who is nuts about tube amps who had one and hated it because it took away from his tone. Its also cool because DigiTech has a site with patches for presets for it so you can get some cool sounds out of it.

If you're on a tight budget, you can't go wrong with the RP80.

The 1500G gets some mighty fine ratings. I've never messed with one myself. I own a Boss GT-8 at the moment and it's pretty sweet.

right i know i started this thread a long time ago but i never got round to buying anything however i am looking to get something ordered at the end of next week, my budget is about £200 and i have it narrowed down to:
(in order of what i think is best from what i have read)

1) korg ax3000g £185
2) pod 2.0 £130 + floor board £80
3) boss me - 50 £200

i cant afford pod xt, any of the digitech GNX series, or boss gt's
still using cheap guitar and amp so im hoping to gain tone from one of these

I own the Korg AX3000G and I love it! The tone is superb imo. The special effects are awesome and the ESS is really great for throwing in arpeggio's and trills that you have a great deal of control over. I have a Fender American Deluxe HSS Strat, an Epi LP Standard, and 2 ESP's (one of them I just put a set of Seymore Duncans in...Distortion/Bridge - 59N/Neck!! Awesome metal sounds through the Korg.) and play them through a Marshall 50w combo or a crate 120w combo and they both sound great. The directions are a bit confusing, but after awhile you get the hang of it....plus even if you mess with it and mes it up, there is a default reset to put it right back to the "out-of-the-box" set-up. Iv'e talked to some people who have the GNX4 and they say they hate it compared to the Korg!

I have the korg AX10G, now, maybe the higher models sound better, but I don't think it sounds all that great. however, since you're still using a cheap guitar and amp, I'm guessing sound quality isn't going to be your biggest concern, because it does sound decent, just not extraordinary. so that's why I'm going to tell you to get the AX3000. It'll have lots of things for you play with and have fun with until such a time you can afford better equipment.

I Have A Korg AX1500G and its pretty amazing it has great tone once you spend time setting it up nicely but if you want a bit more ( but not too much mroe) go for the AX3000G but i think the 1500 is more bang for your buck
