The best stack you've ever played
what is the best stack that you have ever played, based on sound quality, efficeincy, etc etc?

my personal favorites would be down to the B-52 AT100, and the marshall mode four, but I play metal, so that may not be what you like.. it's just what I like.

So far, the best half stack tone I've had is my current setup. Which is a 5150 combo pushing a Marshall 1960a 4x12 loaded with 2 Eminence Governors and 2 Eminence Wizards. The 5150's speakers are unplugged, so it's being used like a head. Killer tone for just abo0ut any style out there.

For me it's my B-52 AT100 head into a B-52 AT412 cab.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

Once in a music store I played a Marshall DSL100 into two Marshall Cabs ( 8X12 ) and it sounded wicked...too rich for my blood though.

ooh, there are a few really nice ones that I have played...probabaly the nicest would be: a Mesa Boogie Lonestar head/halfstack, a Hughes and Kettner Triamp (gorgeous) the Soldano Slo100 is apparently amazing, but I've never played on one...but stangely, what I consider to be the nicest sounding halfstack I have ever played is the new Ibanez Thermion 120 watt head, 4x12 cab...loaded with Celestion vintage 30's (thats stock!!!)...cant believe it was an Ibanez...but it was...I want one so badly!

A friend of mine picked up a used Dual Rec 3 Channel last year...That thing was badass!!! Only got to play it a few times, but it made my insides vibrate.

the best amp imo that i have played is my friends engl powerball through my mesa cab....that beast just gets any sound that i could want...but personally i love my rectoverb and my traditional cab

I best stack I've ever played was a brand-new 1969 Garnet BTO with a pair of JBL-loaded 2x15" cabs. I had to reach way up to toggle the Standby switch, and when I did, my shirt flapped in the sudden breeze caused by the thump as the amp powered up.

I had an older Carvin X100 tube head, and 2 Yorkville 4x12s with 70 watt celestions. That was a wall shaker, but for tone, my Fender Vibrolux for clean and my Peavey Classic 20 for dirty blues.

There's nothing cooler (except standing on stage infront of thousands of screaming fans) than standing infront of a stack and strumming, shredding or playing your favorite song. The only stack I ever really played through was a Peavey VTM 120 head through a Peavey MX Anvil 4x12 ontop of a Crate 4x12. It sounded cool, but I have nothing to compare it too really.
