I just thought of another Dad one that drives me nuts.
Small appliances.

Like, with me..if I buy something like a sandwich maker or a toaster, I kinda consider it disposable and something you leave out so you can use it. It's like, you use it every day, so you leave it plugged in and on the counter.
When it gets too crusty, you toss it out and buy a new one.

I'm watching my dad just use his meat slicer today.
First... he has to get it out of the closet where it's kept in the original box and plastic wrapping. Then he has to unwrap the whole thing and assemble it.
He slices 3 pieces of salami for one sandwich.

He thoroughly cleans the whole machine with a dishcloth and then some paper towels.
Disassembles it again.
Wraps it back in the plastic wrapping, then back into the original box.
Then back into the closet under where the towels are kept.

Then there's the whole deal with using a plate and knife and washing and drying them afterwards and puttin them back in the cupboard.

Total time to make one sandwich, eat it and clean up about 1/2 hour.

For me it's like... slice the meat, grab a piece of printer paper to use for a plate.
Cut the sandwich in half using a popsicle stick or whatever's handy.
Wipe off the slicer with a bit of kleenex, then throw the kleenex, the popsicle stick and the temporary printer paper/plate into the fireplace.

Total time to make one sandwich & eat it... about 3 minutes
Total cleanup time... zero. Plus I get a nice warm fire to eat by.
