This is a horrible side effect of capitalism. Still you have money coming in too. Rich foreigners come here for vacation too. I don't know why. America has become a huge coast to coast mall in my eyes. Yet you have people like the leaders of Enron who are rich enough to begin with, steal more money and destroy the livelyhood of thousands of people. The hard working people you speak of no less. There are bigger causes for a dragging economy than immigrants sending a few hundred dollars a month to thier family.
