The expectation that one must cater to another's views when entering a new country (especially one that throws around the word "free" like America: Land of the Free does) isn't overly realistic. Spanish is everywhere and it's not going to leave. That's just the way it is. Sure it'd be convenient if everyone just learned English and was done with it, but that's not right. Spanish has become a very common language in America and to just expect people to cater to the English ways without asking questions is preventing us valuable opportunities to grow as a race. And regarding the statement "You cant just let everybody in. (sic)" think about all the things that have happened in America by American citizens. Americans haven't always been the most pleasing of people to deal with. Is having a second common language really a problem? America's not some golden slab of sacred ground. It's a body of land surrounded by water. There's no need to act like the ground's being tainted because there's an abundance of Spanish-speaking people here.
Open minded, closed minded, whatever. Im opinionated and thats the way it is. Think we already knew that. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in the United States, speak our freekin language. No problems making our money, but theres a big uproar when we ask if people could speak our language.
You cant just let everybody in. Why dont we be like France and let all the Muslims in? Wait, now they riot when they get pissed and they cant be controlled cuz theres too many of em. (Not to mention they hate us and have waged war on us.) That statement wasnt directed towards Spanish speaking people, it was directed towards the criticism of our foreign policy.
Dont shoot yourself in the head.
