We've been putting up with that kind of stuff in Australia for as long as I can remember. Teachers don't trust students not to cheat as a matter of course. Hardly surprising when the university entry cutoffs and fees are so prohibitive, but still, a bit of mutual respect wouldn't hurt.

And you're right, 6strngs - it's only high school. The thing is, there's a culture in the education system that equates success with a university degree. And teachers who make students sign their tests are only making it worse.
