Hi all
I have been learning guitar for several years, I have saved my hard earnt money to buy the best equipment i can afford, whithin reason anyway.
I have bought a les paul standard and a boss gt 6, I now want an amp to get the best from them, I think I want a tube amp, and rightly or wrongly I narrowed it down to marshall dsl401, a fender hot rod deluxe and purely from advice from the guy at the shop a peavey valveking 112, which sounded good, but its a lot cheaper, and they say you get what you pay for, I have read mixed reviews on all of those amps, I play at home mainly but sometimes along with my friend with drums, so need an amp that sounds good at low volume and at a higher volume, but most of all want to get best from my les paul, maybe you can't reconmend a particular brand but any advice would be welcome, I like lots of music from gary moore, slash, beatles and accoustic stuff, most guitar really. I tried the peavey and liked it, I was advised it sounded as good as the marshall and almost as good the fender but much cheaper, surely there must be reason its so cheap, I dont mind saving if its worth the extra for better sound.
once again thankyou.

One thing to remember is that with tube amps, they pretty much have to be loud to get the best tone. Unless you get something like the Marshall Power Brake, which allows you to crank the amp up, then turn the volume down. That's another few hundred dollars though.

I highly recommend tube amps over solid state, but it's really personal opinion. Tube amps produce a "fuller" tone that will cut through the drums and other intruments better.

I'd go with the Marshall if you want a heavy sound straight from your amp...and the Fender for some nice clean spank...so it depends what you want hey...both are awesome awesome amps.
good luck
