Basically something that will make crows fall out of the sky and that won't go up in smoke before its time. Loud as hell, aggressive biting tone, handles serious distortion like a champ... can provide all the volume needed and then some in a small punk rock hole-in-the-wall.

Any reccomendations?

what's your budget? I like the B-52 AT-212 combo. It's 100W all tube, has a tri-mode rectifier for Class A, AB or solid state modes. Dual high gain channels with independent 3-band EQ's and assignable contour controls. Also has a footswitch. It's about 800 bucks.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

Peavey Stereo Chorus

You will not be dissapointed in this amp. Peavey's are built like anvils that produce sound. It's heavier than hell but also louder than hell. It'll outperform some full stacks. I'm not ****ting you, I used to jam with a guy who owned one. I want one and almost bought one off Ebay but I ended up getting another amp and don't have the money to afford one right now. It's solid state, but sounds like total tube sound. It's crunchy and can be warm or cold depending on how you set it. Trust me, these are great amps. I suggest the late 80's early 90's model.

Ehhhhhhh... I'll shop around for used... would be willing to spend up to 500 bucks... but in the future when times are better I would shell out $$$ for the precise make/model that would do the trick and then some.

A brand new Peavey Valve King 2-12 all tube combo is only 399.00, I really liked that amp. Check it out.

how about a peavey 5150 combo? those things are awesome. or the B-52 already mentioned. good luck finding something under $500 unless it's used though.. except for the valveking, which I haven't heard personally, but I hear it's a good amp
