I am confused, could you explain a few things,

Lets leave BB King's vibrato out and go to the basics...
"A Trill is a Rapid back and forth motion useing Vibrato"
this is the classical vibrato that is used by violinsts too,
where you push the string towards the right and then you pull it to the left, is that right?

if we are ok with this lets go to the next one,

i always though that trill is what Satriani is doing at
the Fig. 3A and Fig. 3B at
http://www.guitaronemag.com/issues/0005/features/g1_f3.html

isn't that a trill?
what does that have to do with vibrato?

I Guess a classical violinsts could do a trill.
Really the trill vibrato is bb-kings trade-mark he was trying to,
duplcate an old blues slide guitar sound, when he first,
started out on the guitar and come up with the trill.
A Trill is vibrato but your just doing it real fast then,
letting it sustain a few sec after its executed
In answer to your Satriani fig. 3A fig. 3B This is, another, tipical screw up in writeing out tab the (tr)
should not be in those 2 tabs your going to see this alot in tab writing by other people.the tab sign should have
been for fast hammering ons plus pull-offs the only,
vibrato i heard was the guitarest that played on the 2
tabs also had a small amount of vibrato in his notes,
i do this alot when teaching hammer ons i have to catch ,
myself other wise my students will say hey my hammer ons,
don/t sound like yours. Its because of habit of playing ,
alot of vibrato for alot of years.
one of my students brought me an Arlon Roth video on blues which i checked out and i'll have to say that he had the,
best explantion for explaining how to do the trill right,
plus the blues bends with vibrato for the bb-king style.
Now Marc Seals from (Guitar Mania is supposed to put a show,
togather on slide guitar plus beginer blues vibrato you,
might check him out.The link is on my web page i can/t ,
think of the link right now but scroll to the bottom of,
my web page and look for the guitar mania link.
