I have a Fender 25R amplifier.
More and more often, especially when I first turn it on, I get a buzz.
I can disconnect everything and I sometimes I still have the buzz.
Sometimes if I pick up the amp or rock it back and forth, there will be a loud pop and the buzz stops. Sometimes it comes back. It seem the longer the amp is turned on the better it gets.

What could be causing this buzz?

I'm not familiar with that model. Is it a tube amp? If so, you probably have a tube going out. How old is this amp?
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

I suspect there's a loose connection somewhere. It's time for a visit to your favourite amp tech.

i had that amp. its a great little amp.

welll the rocking back and forth thing making the pop- thats just the spring reverb inside of it.

what causes the buzz is the reverb.

and if you have a strat, that will just make the buzz worse.

Yeah, I have a Frontman 25R too. Same thing. And I do have a strat, so the buzz is real bad.

In fact, while we're on the topic, along with the annoying buzzing sound, my amp makes this snapping sound every few seconds at regular intervals when it's turned up really high and I'm not playing anything. I always just assumed it was because it has single coil pickups, which I understand are louder buzzing than humbuckers, but I'm starting to think something more is wrong. Anyone know what this is?

Do you live by a highway or some place that gets a lot of traffic?? sometimes cell phones and CB radios will cause interference and your amp will pick it up......

once again as rockonn91 said its prolly reverb. my guitar teacher bumped the marshall half stack at the guitar school and it made a huge buzzin noise and i was like whoah wats that, and he was like, thats just the reverb. so i figure it'd be the reverb :P i have had dodgy cables that have screwed me in the past but thats more to do with the connectors, say if you twist a connector on either the amp or the instrument side a cheap connector will make a bit of a buzz.

Bad cables do that to me, but from my experience with the 25R they are just pieces of **** and prone to breaking. I don't know why Fender amps are so popular, I've always found them worse than the competition in every conceivable way. And here I am with my $700 Fender Bassman, when I could have saved for an Ampeg or something good.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.
