It's not the worst amp in the world, but it's not close to being the best either. The low's were really muddy, and contrary to it saying "hi-gain" on the front of it, it's not a high gain amp....I could get some good bluesy tones with it though. Overall, it's a really muddy amp, but, I could have had a "bad" one, as they say that's how it goes with Marshall's....same model played beside an identical model will sound different.
I'd suggest looking into something different, unless you've heard it and like the tone.
The Marshall JCM 900 cabinet was the match for it, although I have a Marshall 1960ax cab with 25 watt greenbacks. I kept the cab....
