Tired of your own songs

DOes anyone ever write songs and you keep listening to them and playing them and repeating them in your head that you get sick of it and start thinking it sounds like a song already made before since you are reminded of so much by yourself. Like I have been writing this song and It sounded brand new but now ive been listening and playing it, it sounds as if it sounds exactly like a song thats been out before or has the same vibe, but only because Ive heard a million times. Does this happen to you all too?

Hell yeah....by the time I finish recording a song I never wanna hear it again.

The funny thing is that alot of songs now use rythym or backing tracks from other songs. I hear songs on the radio and I'll think to myself, without the words that sounds like such and such.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

I can't relate. When I write songs I enjoy listening to them. It's kind of a seal of approval for me. The more I want to hear it, the better job I think I did and if it even slightly reminds me of someone else's work, then I change it to something that'll make me feel better about it. But this is just me. Most people I know feel the same as you. Maybe I'm just weird or something.

I'm ok for about the first few days. After you spend a couple of months recording a tune and doing 100+ tracks though... you can't wait to just hear silence for a change.
Even then, you keep running the tune in your head over & over again... argh!!

Whenever we get together for band practices, I'll have some song I made up, and I'll just figure out a simple bass thing for him to play mere seconds before we start. He ends up playing it endlessly while our drummer Luke and myself jam and have a great time. Then once we're done I turn to Luke and say "Let's do that again!" It's great watching acapella's face contort.
Gooood times.

It's funny 'cause it's true. When I do make up songs, I'm afraid to sing them, so they never get played anyway.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

I hate hearing a song after recording-it just gets so stale! But playing a song with my band never gets old, cause we have so much improvisation, and when someone f****s up, it's just that much better. :)

you know you have a winner when you relisten to your songs and think... wow. thats still good.
ive got tons of my own material on the computer from when i was just beginning but very confident in my own abilities, so i'd record everything that came into my head. thats why most of it sucks.
but then theres the one or two songs that i worked on for months that still give me a grin listening to em. thats a good feeling right there, man.

Whenever I record it's usually quick 'n' dirty. Sometimes we end up improving half of it and then leaving it at that, or we'll spend a few minutes coming up with something out of nothing, roll the tape with guitar and drums and add other stuff later, etc. etc. Not recommended if you wanna get on the radio and have many fans!
