I know this post has been done millions of times, but doing a quick search through the forums has not found any of them so I am posting again. I am willing to spend anywhere from 500 (or less) to possible 800 if it is worth it. I play anything from Led Zeppelin to Metallica and GNR stuff. I have a multi effects pedal, though, and I am pretty good at getting the sound I want. Therefore the biggest concern to me is playability, value, and looks. Thanks to anyone's help. By the way I was considering an Epiphone or Ibanez if anyone has any experience.

There was a similar question a couple of months ago, that turned into a pretty big thread. There's some good advice in there.

Read the Whole thread if you have the time :)

My best advice to you is to buy an acoustic if you don't already own one. I always come up with different ideas when playing my Martin than I do while playing my Jackson. I suggest a Yamaha or an Alvarez acoustic.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

Yeah, i have an acoustic and I agree. I have a Fender. They get a bad rap but I love mine. Maybe I got the diamond in the rough.

Check out Agile Les Paul's. They are better than Epi's and they only cost about $200.

there are some pretty cheap but classy japanese fender strats and you can get a lot of the american series for less than £800, not that I personally have one, but really I think you've gotta go into music shops and try out the guitars, as you could find that anything you like the look of may sound like you want or it may not, you can get a hell of a lot of guitar for £800, even £500 if you look around, I at least know that.
