Honeslty man...Ibanez amps in that range are pants...
the only decent Ibanez amp I know of (and man is it decent) is the new Thermion head, which I am in love with, but costs in excess of 1000$.

Ninjie is right...a spiderII is probably the best thing you could buy with a low price range.

15. The bigger they get the more stuff they add on. They stay a very good amp for the price.

If you were to tell us your price range we could be a little more helpful.

they make the Spider II in 15, 30, 75 etc watts.

The 15 and 30 watts have the same features, except that the 30 watt has a 10" (or is it 12"?) speaker and footswitch capabilities.

from the 75 watt upwards, the amps have more features and more sounds...but all in all, porbably the best value for money around.

I've got the 30, and it's got a 12" celestion speaker (the 15 has like a 10" no-name speaker I believe) it's got the footswitch capabilities, and it also has a line out for headphones or direct recording. other then that it's the same 4 channels as the 15, but the 75 has like either 6 or 12 channels (can't remember) but 75W of power was alot more then I needed.

btw, he meant he wanted an ibanez guitar (good choice btw ;) ) not an ibanez amp.

also, you didn't mention what price range you had, what style of music you play, and what you would be using the amp for (gigging, practice in your bedroom, etc.)

since you've only been playing for 6 months, I assume you are just using it for bedroom practice, in which case 40W of power is waaayyy too much. you shouldn't need more then 15 or 20. more wattage doesn't mean more sound quality. and I think you would be best off with a spider II 15, as it's cheap, versatile, and won't kill you neighbors.

hey.thanks people, especially 6 strings, 2 humbuckers.

Yeha i love ibanez, this is the one i plan to get: http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/guitar.asp?model=RGT42DXFX&z=y

Well i am going to play mostly metal as that is my favourite genre as well as classic rock. I think upto about £200/$375. Heres a few of my friends recommended:
vox vocatronix or something
roland cube
line 6 spider
peavy bandit
marshall avt or something

And yes at the moment it is just playing in my bedroom, however I am in a couple of bands ( i drum ) and well you never know.

All of those are great amps, but for having the most options I'd still go with a Spider II. 4 channels and effects. You can get more sounds out of it.

good choice!

alright as I said before, I've got a line 6 spider II 30W, and it is possible to play at bedroom practice volumes with it, but I've played it with a drummer too, and it can get loud enough to be heard over a drummer as long as he doesn't start hitting the drums too hard. so perhaps that would be a better choice if you think you might wanna try it in a band eventually. but it won't hold up to gigging, you're going to need a second amp if you want to do any big shows. I got a peavey XXX super 40 for $500, and that's what I'm using for gigging right now, it's super loud! but for now, get a spider, and in the future if you wanna gig, then get something bigger and better. ok?

all of those amps are good for the price. the roland cube is a great pracice amp for the buck. the vox valvetronix line is alright. i only played one once at a pawn shop. lol. spider- alot of effects in one package. fun little amp. the bandit- ive never played but i was SO close to buying one once on ebay. and a marshall is a marshall. there isnt effects on a lowpriced marshall tho.

oh, and great choice on the guitar! neck through guitars=incredible.
