Depends on whether you're a rhythm or lead player, and also what style of music you play. If you play rhythm, I think thick fingers would be better, as you would be able to cover two strings at once, and therefore have an extra finger to play different variations of the chord. I think thin fingers would be better for lead, because you would have better accuracy when hitting the strings.
