Everybody says finger length doesn't matter, but I disagree. Obviously people with long fingers will be able to reach with more ease and comfort. I have pretty long fingers, so once I started playing a bit and got some strength and mobility in my fingers I didn't have any problems. If I had short fingers I think it would have taken me way longer to be get past that stage. That said, people with shorter fingers can kick ass at guitar, but I do believe that longer fingers are an advantage.
