I need a good alternitive picking ex. that covers at least 3 strings going back and forth from sting to sting. Not string skipping and not like a 1234, 124... up and down the fret board. I hope this makes sents I'm having a hard time explaining what I'm looking for. Thanx guys and gals hope you can help.

For exercising, I've been using a pentatonic blues scale. No string skipping and you can get pretty creative with them. Look them up. :)

i dont understand how someone can ask for an excercise then say exactly how he/she wants it to be. if you know how you want it to be, why not make one yourself?

if you're asking for an excercise, why do you not want 1234 123 etc? the reason we have excercises is to build dexterity. not to play something melodic. the best excercises sound like crap.

that being said, here's one of my favorite excercises. i practiced this once a day as fast as possible WITHOUT making any mistakes going up and down the fretboard and i got alot faster and my alternate picking became natural.

ALWAYS PRACTICE WITH A METRONOME NO MATTER WHAT YOU'RE DOING

___2_________3_____4_________3_____4_________5___ etc
