When you have it on were is your gutiar sittin at on your body for your gutiar it might be to high or to low for you so try adjusting your strap.
if you pick up your guitar and play you'll learn something of value.

your strap may be too low. adjust it. dont make it too high unless you wanna look like a loser. sit down, play, look at your wrist. keep the wrist exactly like that. now stand up with the guitar. you should adjust your strap soo your wrist can get in the same position as sitting down. or close. if you dont give your wrist some space, you cant do anything. what i do, is i adjust the strap, then angle my guitar so the headstock is going sorta diagonal instead of horizontal.

its also pretty common not to be able to use your pinkie finger in the upper frets on the 6-5/4 strings. i can barrely get my pinkie up there. i just use my other 3 fingers.

another probablem could be that you have a very thick guitar neck, or you have a bolt-on guitar that on the bolts its like 4 inches and that really takes up some space.

well, dont worry about it, you're not the only one with that problem.

... why do i make my messages so long?

I'd adjust the strap till its comfortable and you can play what you want. Once you get used to this position you may be able to lower it and look "cooler" but think about how high Tom Morello has his strap. It's your playing that people will care about. Who is the loser if they judge you by the height of your strap? You or the person judging you?

You wont look like an idiot if your guitar is a little high. If you can play it, that's all that matters.

YES! There is hope for me then :)
The greatest enemy to what you can know, is what you already know.

It's not how good you play, its how well you play it.

I used to have this problem too, so I made a resolution and stood up. I pulled the strap really tight to simulate sitting and over a couple weeks, gradually lowered the strap to the desired position. Kind of like building up speed with a metronome by slowly moving the tempo up notch by notch, but not.
You will find the benefits of standing to be many: Licking the neck, making weird and suggestive pelvic thrusts, playing behind your head (which I can't actually do), behind your back, and of course dancing all over the stage (which may happen to be your floor)
