Has anyone here tried other pickups besides EMG, Seymour Duncan and DiMarzio? I've looked at some Gibson pickups and Bareknuckle pickups. I'm looking for some high output pups that would be good for soloing and rythym playing.

If you can be more specific about what you want, ("I'm looking for some high output pups that would be good for soloing and rythym playing." could be just about anything! :p ), contact Jeff at >HighOrder Pickups< with the specs. He can custom-build to your requirements. But like I said, you need to know what your requirements are.

Well I'm not really interested in specific models I guess. I really just want to know what other brands of pickups are out there that are good. I checked out the review list on Harmony Central and there's such a big list, it just amazes me that there's really only 3 big pickup companies that most people use for replacement pickups. So I'm actually looking for brands/companies rather than actual models of pickups. Thanks

Not to be a smartass, but I could just go to Harmony Central, get the entire list and search for each pickup maker on a search engine. I was trying to see if anyone had any personal experiences with them. If you want to keep recommending search function and Google, then I'll have to say thanks, but no thanks. I've been on the internet since '95. I know how to use it and I know how pissy guys can get in forums if you ask for info that's readily available. My not using the search function to look up neck type info was an oversight and will not happen again sir!!! Of course what I don't seem to find readily available (amazingly) are personal opinions on equipment from people who don't just hate something because they are biased against a certain brand. So thanks for the Google suggestion, but it's a road I've been down already.

Check out Burstbuckers.... they're the nice pups you get in some Les Pauls, great for lead and also have good power for crunch.

I would have a look at Bare Knuckle.
I have a Nailbomb in my Gibson Lp and a Warpig in My Cort s2550 and couldnt be happier...I am a bareknuckle convert for life, and it would take a lot to make me use another non-stock pickup.

check out the Miracle man...very high output

Thanks for your guys' suggestions. I'll try these out and let you know how they work out. I was thinking about the Nailbomb, but after what you said about the Miracle I'll be trying it out as well. I'll also be checking out the Lindy Fralin pickups. Someone I heard of before uses those and I hadn't really thought about them again until you said that. After I get them installed I'll try to post some sound clips.
