OK ive heard this effect many times, and now ive decided to know what its called and what i can use to achieve it.
The effect im talking about sounds like theres 2 guitars playing together in perfect harmony but each in different octaves or scales or something.... THe best and the only example i can remember it being used in is by Dimebag in Blue right turning Red @ about the 39/40 second mark....
if anyone could tell me plz! :)

cheers

Octave Pedal and BOSS makes a Pitch Shifter which can play a "2nd" guitar in harmony with the main guitar.

yeah octivia or pitch shifter pedals will do a harmony of 3rds, 5ths, 6ths, and octives usually. sometimes you'll find one that does 7ths or 4ths or 11ths... etc.

i cant help you with any good brands, the pitch shifter i have is built into the amp...

just go to a music website like musicians friend and type in "pitch shifter" into the search and you should find PLENTY.
